Designed, built and maintained under one roof.
Custom software for growing businesses, built in Vermont for clients across the US. The person who sketches the first screen writes the code, then keeps it updated and running for as long as you need it.

What we build
We build web applications, mobile apps for both app stores, internal tools that replace your spreadsheets, and we move your older software onto a maintained stack without disrupting your business.
You get a written scope and a price before engineering starts, working software on a preview link every week or two, and the code, accounts and documentation in your name.
Why clients work with us
One person, start to finish
The person who scopes the work designs it, writes the code and maintains it. Nothing is lost in a hand-off.
Current tools, vetted constantly
New frameworks and AI tools are tried all the time, and only the ones that hold up in production make it into client work.
Fast by design
Working software on a preview link every week or two, not a big reveal after months of silence.
Organised from day one
A written scope, a shared preview, plain invoices and documentation in your name, so working together stays easy.
No idea too big or too small
From replacing one spreadsheet to rebuilding the system the business runs on, the job is to find the version that works.

Who you’ll work with
I’m Baris Taskiran, founder and principal engineer of 802.software. I’ve spent 15+ years designing and shipping production software, and I pick the tools to fit the job.
I started the studio in Vermont in 2022 to build the kind of software I wished agencies had built for me: plain to run, secure by default and handed over clean. You deal with me from the first call to the updates years after launch. When a project needs a specialist, I bring in someone I’ve vetted and manage the work myself, so you never brief anyone twice.
“He’s incredibly fast without sacrificing quality, thoughtful about strategy and user experience, and refreshingly fair with his pricing. More importantly, he genuinely cares about the final product and your satisfaction with it.”

“What makes Baris exceptional is that he doesn’t simply execute your ideas. He improves them. He understands the intersection of design, technology, marketing and business strategy, and he can translate a complicated vision into something functional, scalable and beautiful.”

How a project runs
In detail →Understand
A call, then a few days
The business, the people who will use the software, and what has been tried before.
Plan
Within a week
A written scope: what gets built first, what it costs, and what is left out on purpose.
Design and build
First preview in 1–2 weeks, first release in 4–10
Design and engineering run together. Working software reaches a preview link every week or two.
Launch and look after
Ongoing, month to month
Code, accounts and documentation are yours. We stay on to maintain what we built.
Typical ranges, not promises: every project gets real dates in its written scope before work starts.
Our own product

Is any project too small?
No. A single internal tool, one fragile report or a fix to an existing app is a fine place to start. Every project, large or small, gets a written scope and a price first.
Is there a minimum budget?
No. The scope is sized to what you want to spend, and the first release is kept to the part that pays off soonest.
How long does it take to get a quote?
Start with a call about the business and the problem. A written scope with a price for the first release follows within a week, and nothing is billed before you approve it.
Will you help me choose the right tools?
Yes. Part of the scope is recommending what to build, what to buy and what to keep. Often the answer is an off-the-shelf tool you already pay for, connected properly, and we will say so.
Will I be passed around a team?
No. You keep one contact from the first call through design, engineering and maintenance. When a project needs a specialist, we bring in someone we have vetted and manage the work ourselves, so you never have to brief anyone twice.
Has a process outgrown its spreadsheet?
Sound familiar?
- Orders arrive by email and get re-typed into a spreadsheet
- A quote takes an afternoon to put together
- Stock, bookings or jobs live in three places that never agree
- Someone rebuilds the same report by hand every Monday
- The schedule is a whiteboard only one person understands
- An old system nobody wants to touch still runs the business
